Jacob and Jackson (September '08)

Here's some recent photos of the boys. They're getting bigger everyday. I'll post more soon I promise.

I'm starting to think Jackson is going to have more irish traits in him than Jacob. He's eyebrows and hair are starting to turn a little red. He's a Watkins for sure.

Jacob is getting bigger and bigger.

He's starting to wear hats around the house and he's trying to talk to mommy and I alot more lately. He says baseball, please, food, thank you, amen, apple juice, see, I show you, I did it, yeah...I'm sure I forgetting alot of them.

Goofin around the house Friday night. Jacob likes to throw rocks into the street and laugh when daddy has to go get them.

Here's another picture of Jackson. He's rolling over now and trying to crawl. He picks his butt up to inch forward but somehow he ends up inching backwards. It's rather cute, he gets really mad and grunts alot.

Camping with the McMillians

So Jenna and I wanted to get up in the high country again and go camp before it gets to cold up in the hills. We decided to go the western side of RMNP just south of Grand Lake and Lake Granby. Julia and Matt came with us....so lets count four kids and four adults....it was a fun and exhausting trip.

Jenna and I made awesome breakfast burritos the night before. Every morning we'd warm them up over the fire and chowed down on them with some ranch dressing on the side. They where amazing.

We plotted our course through RMNP over the continental divide. We had a couple camping options not knowing what to expect when we got there. We ended up leaving RNMP and camping at Willow Creek Reservoir in Arapaho National Recreation Area.
(It's in the lower left hand corner of the map)

Issac and Jacob explored the campsite non stop...

While we set up the site and prepared for rain. We saw a little rain everyday, but the clouds rolled out every night and the stars were a site to behold.

Issac was all to curious about fire...

Psalm enjoyed her first camping trip...at least until she had to go to sleep. Poor Matt and Julia their kiddos kept them up both nights.

Jacob loved playing in the back of the Tundra.

Sunday morning we took the Tundra and 4runner out for some offroading.

I absolutely love getting off of the pave roads deep in the mountains.

Jenna and I on the way back home on Monday in RMNP.

Grandma Watkins is in town!!

So my mom came out to stay with Jenna and I for ten days this summer at the end of July. It was great having her around. I wish I could spend more time with my parents. My mom and Dad would steal our boys from us every weekend if they could.

Jackson tired on some new shoes..

Unfortunately we didn't take may pictures while Grandma was here. We just enjoyed her company. I had to work the whole time which was not fun at all. I'm looking forward to Christmas. They'll be here for five days and I'm going to be off the whole time:)

I got sick of the hair and shaved it off.

My mom brought her camera with her so I was able to steal some photos of mom and dad from their trip to see my Uncle Pat and Aunt Jan in Idaho.

Camping around Lake McCall north of Boise with the big ponderosa pines.

Fourth of July Camping Trip

Jenna and I decided to take the boys camping over the holiday weekend. Jacob camped with us last summer, but this was Jackson's first time. We headed up the mountain to Estes Park and camped in RMNP. We got a little rain, had a lot of sun, and enjoyed being up in the mountains.

While Jenna worked on making some dinner...

Jacob was off exploring. We couldn't let him out of our site for one minute.

Our awesome 6-man Dicks sporting goods special...

A lot of pacing around the campfire with Jackson. The beer always tasted better after a long day with the boys.

Jenna and I took the new 4runner up Old Fall River Road in RMNP.

It was a pretty easy drive....

but it was nice to get off the beatin path. Jenna and I think it's a more scenic drive than Trail Ridge Road.

Jenna and I at the top of Trail Ridge Road near the visitors center. There's still alot of snow up here above tree line one month into the summer.

Jenna loves the mountains so much she just has to jump...:)

Back at the camp ground Jenna and I relaxed around the camp fire...

It got pretty cold at night, so the fire kept us nice and warm.

This is what happens when you let Jacob play with the flashlight around the campfire...

This is what happens when you let Jacob play around water puddles...

Jacob and I the last night of the trip. It was a great weekend.
